Queerness ist hip, jedeR möchte irgendwie queer sein. Zwischen Lifestyle und akademischem Betrieb verbreitet sich ein Sprach-, Bilder- und Partyschaum, der inzwischen vor allem von und für Heteros eine Spielwiese zu bilden scheint. Was sind die erkenntnistheoretischen und somit die politischen Schwachstellen und Fehlleistungen des Projektes queer? Und hat es letztendlich aufgrund seiner theoretischen Implikationen und Vereinnahmungen als soziale Bewegung versagt? Die retrospektive Betrachtung ihrer Erfolge und Misserfolge führt uns zur kritischen Hinterfragung von queeren Versprechen und Hoffnungen.

In einer Doppelconference wird Alex Gruber in seinem Beitrag "Leiblichkeit und (De)Konstruktion. Zum Kampf gegen die Natur in Poststrukturalismus und queer theory" eine erkenntnistheoretische kritische Linie entlang des (Post)Strukturalismus via Michel Foucault zu Judith Butler und die queer theory legen. Tjark Kunstreich wird in seinem Beitrag "Still queer & loathing? Vom Kampf gegen AIDS zum Hass auf Israel" über Betrachtungen zur Trauer um den Untergang des homosexuellen Subjektes und dem Hang zur repressiven Community hinführen.
