Occupy auf Europäisch
Time to Talk

Im Herbst 2011 schien es für einen Moment, als wäre Occupy
die Bewegung, die sich nach den USA auch in ganz Europa
durchsetzt. Um Occupy wurde es wieder ruhig. Aber in Europa
gibt es eine lange Tradition erfolgreicher Besetzungen, von
Häusern, Universitäten, Stadtvierteln und Plätzen. Das Gängeviertel
in Hamburg und ¡Democracia Real YA! in Spanien sind
zwei Beispiele dafür.

Occupy in Europe
Time to Talk

In the fall of 2011, it appeared for a moment as if the Occupy
movement would continue to grow in the United States and also
throughout Europe. Since then it seems as though there is much less
"ado" about Occupy. At the same time, in Europe there is a long
tradition of successful occupations of buildings, universities,
neighborhoods and public spaces. The "Gängeviertel" in Hamburg and
"¡Democracia Real YA!" in Spain are two important examples.
